This course explores issues of Education, Guidance and Counseling in secondary schools. It introduces student teachers to the theories of counseling, with emphasis on their application and implication in secondary school situations. Professional development of a teacher and the impact of teacher personality on the teacher –leaner relationship are stressed in his course. The course also surveys the problem of pupils in secondary schools and how such problems can be tackled through effective communication between teachers/parents and their pupils/children. Under this course, the mystery of adolescence as a developmental stage will be examined, particularly the biological, social, cognitive, emotional and moral changes during adolescence period.
